“Jemma Griffiths (born May 1975^[1], Penarth, Wales), better known as Jem, is a Welsh singer-songwriter known for her eclectic musical stylings. Her debut album, Finally Woken, includes elements of rock, New Wave-styled electronica and trip-hop. Along with electronic producer Guy Sigsworth (Björk, Frou Frou), she wrote the song “Nothing Fails“, which was later reworked by Madonna and appeared on her 2003 American Life album. British people FTW! Jem a avut ceva melodii de-a lungul timpului pe coloana sonora de la Grey’s Anatomy, si trebuie sa recunosc ca sunt melodii bune. Check them out.

Intre timp am inceput temp job-ul, am cautat toata vara si nu e cel mai bun, dar merge. Asa ca in cele din urma am inceput sa strang bani ca sa mi iau chitara. Un Stratocaster looks pretty nice really.

Massive Attack/Teardrop

House MD. e inca o medical drama TV show with a twist. Chiar daca abordarea este foarte CSI a subiectului bicrobian-infectios, episoadele care devin destul de repede plictisitoare si un personaj principal destul de placut (arogant, dependent de calmante, anti social, proprietar de Flying V si de Triumph…ce nu e de placut), House MD a prins repede si bine la public. E unul din cele mai urmarite programe de peste ocean, dupa American Idol si Dancing with the stars (Dansez pentru tine versiunea lor). Evident calitatea tv-ului lor, scuzati expresia, s-a dus pe garla.

Dar, pentru mine, House e salvat de Hugh Laurie, actorul britanic din spatele lui House, de bastonul cu grafiac imprumutata de la masinutele Hot Wheels si de main themeul din state al serialului. Massive Attack – Teardrop…introul instrumental ca sa fim precisi.

Asa dar, cultura britanica salveaza inca o data ziua. Videoclip ciudat, melodie relaxanta, trip hop de cea mai buna calitate.

Tricky/Past Mistake

“Trip hop is a music genre also known as the Bristol sound or Bristol acid rap. It is often rejected as a term by those artists to whom it is applied. Multumita wikipedia nu mai pierd timpul pentru a scrie exact ce e trip hop-ul. Massive Attack au fost saptamana trecuta (cred) si ceva reactii au fost, lumea s-a dus la concert, adica frumos. Din pacate stilul nu e foarte raspandit. In romania putine formatii au incercat ceva desi nu sunt sigur daca e exact trip hop ce au facut ei. Ma gandeasc la NSK si Silent Strike.

Tricky vine din UK si are un stil destul de interesant in modul de interpretare a versurilor. Nu am apucat explorez prea mult, dar numai de bine. Un album cu Björk, colaboratori multi si cunoscuti.

Past Mistake e melodia pe seara asta. Duce un pic cu ganul la drum and bass, un beat puternic. Oricum, ascultati singuri.
